The Brief

To help launch a new business, a barbers and record shop in the heart of Newbury that stands out from the competition. The requirements covered company name research, branding, design for the website, social media and even clothing!

The Solution

Nine Four advised many aspects of the company setup, helping Alex with his visions and ideas for the branding. We provided all creative aspects including the branding, website design and social media as well as ideas to ensure the shop space works with the brand.

The Results

Nine Four created a modern brand that’s bang on trend. Alex had a vision and knew exactly how he wanted his shop to look and feel. We helped make this a reality, the result offers customers a friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on really great music!

Alex, not only is a talented barber but is a keen record collector, and really loves music, he wanted to reflect this within the shop and its name (the ‘B side or a record’). His dog, “B” also played a key part in the naming. B’s a rescued ibizan hound from Spain, and has been a loyal companion, she has been by Alex’s side for many years and is ‘part of the furniture’ always in her chair and loved by many of Alex's friends and loyal customers.

Through the company naming research Nine Four found the most suitable names to be “B Side Barbers” and “B Side Records”. Every company naming job includes this research phase to ensure the domain name and social media username is consistent for all social networks, in-consistent naming causes confusion, and may mean customers struggle to find your brand online.

Once the name was registered Nine Four worked on the branding, photography, art direction, business cards and stationary, window decals, website design and worked closely with Alex to ensure his vision worked with the brand throughout the shop interior and signage, paint colours and interior design.

Nine Four also helped implement a booking app, Alex had prior experience with the systemn, which not only helped customers easily book and leave reviews, it also allowed us to automatically ‘push’ the reviews to the Google My Business page we set up.
